Filistin halkına uygulanan soykırıma, açlığa ve susuzluğa karşı seslerini yükseltmek üzere protesto eylemi yapan Doctors Against Genocide (Soykırıma Karşı Doktorlar) grubu kurucu üyesi iki doktor gözaltına alınmış ve tutuklanmıştı. Doktorlar, ABD’nin, İsrail’in Filistinli çocukları kasıtlı olarak aç bırakarak 14.000 bebeğin ölümüne yol açmasına müdahale etmesini talep ettikleri için tutuklandılar. Meslektaşlarımızın serbest bırakıldığını memnuniyetle öğrenmiş bulunuyoruz.  Doctors Against Genocide’ın sloganı: “Bombalar değil, ekmek. Çocukların yemesine izin verin. Soykırımı sonlandırın.” “Bizler iyileştirmek için varız. Sağlık hizmetinin bir savaş aracı haline gelmesine, hastalar aç bırakılırken, bombalanırken ve bakım alamazlarken sessiz kalamayız.” diyorlar.

İşgalci İsrail rejiminin dünyadaki en büyük destekçisi ve emperyalizmin merkezi ABD’de sessizlik ve eylemsizlik duvarını yıkmaya çalışan, Filistin halkının yaşadığı mezalime dikkat çekmek amacıyla cesaretle harekete geçen Doctors Against Genocide üyesi meslektaşlarımızla dayanışma içinde olduğumuzu bildiririz.

Filistin halkıyla dayanışmanın suç değil, insanlık ve aynı zamanda hekimlik görevi olduğunu bir kez daha hatırlatıyoruz.

Solidarity with the Palestinian people is not a crime, but supporting genocide is!

Two doctors, cofounders of the Doctors Against Genocide group, who were protesting to raise their voices against the genocide, hunger and thirst inflicted on the Palestinian people, were detained and arrested. They were arrested for demanding that the US intervene in Israel’s purposeful starvation of Palestinian children, which is about to kill 14000 babies. We were pleased to learn that our colleagues have been released.  Doctors Against Genocide’s slogan is: “Bread not bombs. Let the children eat. End the genocide.” They are saying, “We are healers. We cannot be silent while healthcare is weaponized and patients are starved, bombed and denied care.”

We would like to express our solidarity with our colleagues who are members of Doctors Against Genocide, who are trying to break down the wall of silence and inaction in the USA, the center of imperialism and the biggest supporter of the occupying Israeli regime in the world, and who have courageously taken action to draw attention to the atrocities suffered by the Palestinian people.

We remind once again that solidarity with the Palestinian people is not a crime but a humanitarian and medical responsibility.
